I'd like to thank Warhammer-Fanatic for that tiny little detail on the Bolter and Chainsword Internet Site, which is where I found the painter for the Tau.

Anyway, this is a Fire Warrior of the Is'Ya Sept in the Third Phase Expansion. Is'Ya means Cold Sphere in Tau, and the system's capital world is polar in climate. Hunter Cadres originating from Is'Ya specialize in firm defensive tactics and steadfast advances.

The colors of the Is'Ya Tau stem from the aid it received from allies in conquering the world on 024 M42, four years after the Galactic Crusade. A strike force of Quallathan Eldar helped the Tau in claiming the system from the Orks, taking out vital strategic points as the Tau pressed on in their charge.

As a sign of respect, the Tau have adopted the colors of the Eldar as their own. Even now, whenever Imperial crusades are directed at Is'ya, the Tau find themselves aided by their old allies in the struggle.

Warhammer 40K is property of Games Workshop, and the name Quallathan belongs to the Dragonlance series of books. The Craftworld and the Is'Ya Sept are original ideas.

Huh. I thought the Eldar have always thought of the Tau as little children. Guess kids do need a little boost now and then, even if they have taken off their training wheels and have begun to soar. :handshake:

Nicely done, by the way.

:-? "Wait... WHAT?!"
:D :XD: :w00t:

I have an explanation for Quallathan's actions along with what you said. In addition to being a sanctum for the remaining Eldar, the Craftworld still carries out its role as a trading vessel. They are enemies of the Imperium, and take sides with any and every faction opposed to it. The Is'Ya Tau are one of the groups the Quallathan Eldar share special alliances with.

And thanks for the fave :D

:-? But still, with the thing between the Biel-tan and the Blood Ravens going on, I don't suppose all Eldar are Imperium-haters?

Do you mind mentioning several more of the groups the Quallathan share bonds with? You might wanna check my journal while you're at it. (No it's not a tag, I swear! :fingerscrossed:)

:-? "Wait... WHAT?!"
 The tag thing was the first note I got in DA, which in turn led me to my using of notes for those personal messages.

And I read your post, and I made my coment. Have fun choosing from m gallery :D

Before I go on to answer your question, I think you should know that this is a big multi-crossover I'm working with. There's a lot of universes and factions patched into this, but the current storyline is focused on Star Wars and Warhammer 40K elements. See my previous journal entries for info. Well, here's the list of Quallathan's alliances.

1: Tilea - Its 40K equivalent is a loose collection of merchant domains. If you know about Fantasy Battles, you know what the main domains are. Quallathan conducts a great deal of trade in Tilea, which is a source for information regarding the Craftworld. There's not a tavern in the Merchant Domains which doesn't bear knowledge and rumors about the Quallathan Eldar.

In the times when the realm's neutrality or safety is threatened, mostly by the Imperium or Forces of Chaos, many taskforces from Quallathan are prepared to mobilize for any sign of war. The only real strife in Tilea is its civil wars and raids by Dark Eldar Kabals and Orks. The latter are reason enough for Quallathan warhosts to appear in the Merchant Domains.

2: Ulthuan - The Island Realm of the High Elves also has a 40K parallel, a large and populous Craftworld. The alliance between the two Eldar worlds goes back sometime after the Horus Heresy, and in the beginning of the Age of Apostasy.

3: Gallente Federation - This faction from EVE online is one of the Imperium's supposed 'allies' in the Northern Fringe. Though the Gallenteans have aided the Imperium against raids from Chaos, in truth they mistrust them and oppose their malignment of alien races. Many alien races - Eldar, Tallerians, halfbreeds, and more - are secretly protected by the Gallente forces.

In regards to Quallathan, the Craftworld covertly diverts the Imperium from the paths of refugees en route to the Federation. Raids and sieges on Imperial systems have allowed many prosecuted beings, both humans and non-humans, to slip through the Imperium-Gallente border unnoticed.

Secret trading agreements have also been forged between the two groups, and the Gallente are willing to provide information and shelter for the Eldar in return for their help.

4: Dwarf Domains - Known in 40K as Squats, those Dwarf worlds that had neither been destroyed by Tyranids or annexed by the Imperium struggle to remain independent and intact.

The Eldar of Quallathan have a very shaky alliance with those worlds, their racial distrust only ofset by their hatred for their common foe, the Imperium. Both the Seer Council and the Dwarven lords know that their truce is one of necessity, and they would rather stay aloof from one another's affairs in peacetime. Such a general view is contested by others, for some believe that this distant alliance must be further developed to preserve the Craftworld.

Quallathan strike forces patrol the regions around the Dwarf worlds, dispatching any Imperial crusade-fleets directed towards them. In return, the Dwarves gather information for the Craftworld.

5: Resistance Forces - The Eldar give both overt and covert assistance for revolutionaries seeking the reform of the Imperial government.

Will reveal more alliances in the future.

:wow: Wow. That's a lot of alliances there. Quite an ambitious project you've got going on there. Keep it up!
